Yvane<\/a> has completed a Bachelors Degree in Human Biology<\/strong> (BAppSci) and is currently fulfilling the research & thesis requirement for his Masters of Osteopathy<\/strong>. With 4 years of experience in Therapeutic & Sports massage<\/strong>, Yvane\u2019s treatment approach is primarily structural with the use of techniques such as soft tissue, joint articulation, inhibition and muscle energy techniques.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
Should I eat before my sports massage?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Avoid heavy, rich meals prior to your appointment as this can contribute to cramping. Ideally, you would have eaten 2hrs before and you arrive hydrated.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Should a sports massage hurt?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Treatment doesn\u2019t have to be painful, please tell your therapist if you\u2019d like less\/more pressure so they can adjust accordingly.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Is a sports massage full body?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
This depends entirely on you and what you\u2019d like to achieve from the treatment. We are guided by you.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Will a sports massage get rid of knots?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes! Definitely. Often effects are instant, however, some knots may return and take a couple of sessions to fully resolve.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
How often should I have a sports massage?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is entirely up to you and your needs, we can assess this more during treatment and give our recommendation. Most elite athletes will get a massage once a week, others will find that once a month suits them better.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
How long is a sports massage?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Treatment options include 30mins, 45mins, 60mins and 90mins.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depending on your provider and policy you may be able to get some treatments covered. Please check your policy prior, we will supply receipts for all appointments allowing you to claim back with your provider.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m not feeling well, can I still get a massage?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
We do not recommend getting a massage if you are feeling unwell as this can increase symptoms. Massage stimulates blood flow and circulation, which adds load to the already compromised immune system. Plus, you don\u2019t want to get your therapist sick!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
